Burkholderia_phytofirmans
Names Burkholderia phytofirmans PsJN
Accession numbers NC_010676, NC_010679, NC_010681
Background A plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria, Burkholderia phytofirmans was isolated from surface-sterilized onion roots in Nova Scotia, Canada, and has been shown to be beneficial to a number of plants such as potato, tomato and grapevine. In grapevine it has been shown to colonize most of the plant, starting from a root inoculate. This endophyte also confers mild pathogen resistance. It is the type strain for the species (adapted from http://genome.jgi-psf.org/burpp/burpp.home.html). (EBI Integr8)
