Mycoplasma synoviae 53

Names Mycoplasma synoviae 53
Accession numbers NC_007294
Background Mycoplasma synoviae is responsible for causing respiratory tract disease and synovitis (inflammation of the lining of the joints) in chickens and turkeys. It occurs primarily in chickens and turkeys, but ducks, geese, guinea fowl, parrots, pheasants, and quail may also be susceptible. Transmission can occur vertically through eggs, resulting in a reduced egg production and a lowered rate of viable hatching. (EBI Integr8)
