Aerococcus_urinae
Names Aerococcus urinae ACS-120-V-Col10a
Accession numbers NC_015278
Background Aerococcus urinae, a commensal of the urinary tract, has recently been recognized as as emerging urinary tract pathogen causing infection primarily in elderly patients with local or systemic predisposing conditions such as prostate hyperplasia, urethral stricture, diabetes mellitus, malignancy or dementia. It is probably currently under-diagnosed. Strain ACS-120-V-Col10a, also known as CCUG 59500, was isolated from a human vagina in Belgium in 2007. It is being sequenced as part of the Human Microbiome Project (HMP). (EBI Integr8)
