Pedobacter_saltans
Names Pedobacter saltans DSM 12145
Accession numbers NC_015177
Background Pedobacter saltans (strain ATCC 51119 / DSM 12145 / JCM 21818 / LMG 10337 / NBRC 100064 / NCIMB 13643) is a heparinase-producing, obligately aerobic, Gram-negative bacterium isolated from the soil. P.saltans can phenotypically be differentiated from most Pedobacter strains by its inability to assimilate D-cellobiose and the ability to utilize glycerol. It is called saltans referring to its peculiar dancing or gliding motility. (Adapted from PMID: 9542086). (EBI Integr8)
